Richard Michael Gomez is a multimedia artist, puppeteer, and human pom-pom who has worked extensively in television and theatre. He was a puppet wrangler on the 2025 national tour and 2026 off-Broadway run of Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock Live, and served as puppet wrangler/co-puppet captain/additional puppeteer on the stage show of Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas in Rochester, New York in 2025 and 2026. He is also a talented illustrator, contributing Christmas-themed Fraggle Rock prints and "doodles" inspired by Jim Henson's own design sketches that populate the background of the 2026 streaming series Jim Henson's Monster Dance. He has also contributed to WHYY Kids’ show Albie’s Elevator and off-Broadway show Carnival as a puppet wrangler and puppeteer. Richard also fabricates puppets for theatre, including regional and student productions of Seussical, Frozen, and How to Train Your Dragon. He has also created characters and puppets for emerging preschool pilot Lilypad Library, which focuses on educational programming for neurodivergent children. Richard loves to entertain audiences by maintaining and performing dozens of beloved characters and hosts puppet fabrication workshops for all ages.
